Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Sharing of Public Radiation Oncology Capacity between Christchurch and Dunedin Cancer Centres

The Ministry of Health developed Protocols for Sharing Public Radiation Oncology capacity between Cancer Centres (2008) which complements the protocol on the public interface with private radiation services.

Canterbury DHB and Southern DHB , as the main providers of public radiation oncology in the South Island, together with the other DHBs who use the radiation oncology service, wanted to develop a MOU to set out how the protocols will be applied and to act as a Heads of Agreement, for the adoption of further protocols as they are developed. The SCN facilitated the development of the MOU, which was signed by all South Island DHB CEOs.
